Bengaluru: In a significant move to strengthen its foothold in India’s rapidly expanding AI and startup ecosystem, OpenAI has started hiring for a Solutions Architect, Startups role in Bengaluru — marking the company’s first such position in the country.

The opening was announced on LinkedIn by Kenneth Ang, Talent Partner at OpenAI, who shared that a similar role is also being recruited for in Seoul, South Korea.

“We’re hiring in India (Bangalore) and South Korea (Seoul)! Are you deeply connected to your local startup ecosystem and passionate about building with AI?” Ang wrote in his post.

The hiring announcement comes just days ahead of OpenAI’s first DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru on November 4, where the company plans to engage directly with developers and startups.

This move follows OpenAI’s recent decision to offer Indian users free access to ChatGPT Go for one year, starting November 4 — a gesture widely seen as a sign of the company’s growing focus on India’s innovation and developer landscape.
