Petrol, diesel prices continue to rise for 2nd straight day

New Delhi/UNI: Petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, setting a new record.

According to state-run Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel prices were increased by 26 paise and 24 paise respectively across four metro cities.

In Delhi, petrol prices were raised by 26 paise from 94.23 Rs to 94.49 Rs while diesel prices were increased by 23 paise from 85.15 per litre to 85.38 Rs per litre.

Notably, the prices have been increased for the 17th day since May 4. During this period, petrol were increased by 4.09 Rs while diesel prices were hiked by 4.65 Rs.

In Mumbai and Kolkata, petrol is being sold at 100.72 Rs and 94.50 Rs per litre respectively. Meanwhile, in Chennai, petrol was hiked by 23 paise to 95.99 Rs per litre.

Meanwhile, diesel price in Mumbai increased by 24 paise to reach at 93.69 Rs per litre. In Chennai and Kolkata, it was hiked by 22 paise and 23 paise to 90.12 and 88.23 Rs per litre, respectively.

Petrol-diesel prices are reviewed daily and changes are implemented, if any, with effect from 0600 hrs every day.
