Petrol, diesel prices reach record high

New Delhi/UNI : Petrol and diesel prices rose for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday.

The country is currently witnessing record highs in petrol prices. Apart from the national capital, diesel prices too have reached a historic high.

According to the biggest Oil marketing company of India- Indian Oil Corporation(IOC), in Delhi petrol  today became dearer by 30 paise to reach a price of Rs 88.44 per litre. In Mumbai petrol price rose by 29 paise to reach a price of Rs 94.9 3 per litre, while Kolkata saw a 29 paise rise in petrol prices as the price reached  Rs 89.73 per litre. 

Chennai saw a 26 paise rise in petrol price as the fuel reached a price of Rs 90.70 per litre.

Diesel prices in Delhi rose by 36 paise to reach Rs 78.7 4 per litre, a record high since July 30, 2020. In Mumbai, it rose by 38 paise to reach Rs 85.70, in Chennai it rose by 34 paisa to reach Rs 83.86 per litre and in Kolkata it rose by 37 paise to reach Rs 82.33 per litre.
