Petrol, diesel prices slashed

New Delhi, Apr 1 (IBNS): Giving relief to customers, petrol and diesel prices were slashed from mid night on Saturday.

While petrol price was reduced by Rs. 3.77 per litre, diesel price was cut by Rs. 2.91 a litre.

Speaking on the new price, state-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said in a statement: "Decrease in Selling Price of Petrol by Rs. 3.77/litre (excluding State levies)."

"Decrease in Selling Price of Diesel by Rs. 2.91/litre (excluding State levies)," it said.

This was first change in the prices of diesel and petrol in two-and-a-half months.

The prices were last revised on Jan 16.
