Scindia agrees to look into airlines charging extra for boarding passes

New Delhi: Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Friday agreed to look into complaints of airlines charging extra for boarding passes.

Scindia's response came following a tweet tagging him seeking his attention towards the practice, in this case by SpiceJet.

Taking note of the complaint, he responded, "Agreed, will examine this asap!"

Amid the pandemic, many airlines have been charging customers for issuing boarding passes if they fail to do web check-in. Many customers have voiced the issue on social media platforms.

Even as the airlines insist on prior web check-in, many travellers are unable to do the same and end up at the airport counter of the service provider to get the boarding passes.

Besides Spicejet, Indigo has been also charging Rs 200 for providing boarding passes from its check-in counter.

Many pointed out that it is unfair to consumers.
