Sensex rallies by 389.90 pts

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI/IBNS) : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday gained further by 389.90 points to 36,363.61 as buying was seen across-the-board amid strong global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 97.50 points to 10,932.80.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,371.11 and 36,129.66 respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,939.70 and 10,875.10 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, Realty, Bankex kept the equity market in early trade.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 3.02 pc to Rs 449, Bharti Airtel by 2.90 pc to Rs 324.50, Bajaj Auto by 2.86 pc to Rs 2934, Yes Bank by 2.24 pc to Rs 234.75 and SBI by 2.23 pc to Rs 272.25.

The losers were Kotak Bank by 0.32 pc to Rs 1231.75, HCL Tech by 0.24 pc to Rs 1056.30, HDFC Bank by 0.06 pc to Rs 2109 and Hind Unilever by 0.05 pc to Rs 1766.10.
