Kolkata, July 13 (IBNS) Tata Power's nationwide resource and energy conservation movement Club Enerji, has been constantly spreading awareness about resource conservation across the country, with a strategic focus on national building.

Continuing with its momentum, Tata Power Club Enerji, in 2015-16, sensitized around 24,000 citizens in Kolkata through primary contact programme and secondary sensitization and saved around 20 thousand units of energy in the city.

Tata Power’s Club Enerji movement in Kolkata currently has 475 Energy Champions and 584 Energy Ambassadors across schools. Tata Power's ‘Energy Conservation Programme' introduced in more than 10 schools in the city, aims at creating maximum impact by educating and creating awareness amongst citizens on the effective management and conservation of energy in our everyday life.

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives. In 2015-16 the programme also launched an online module (http://www.clubenerji.com/) of the Club Enerji programme wherein the users would simply need to register for a detailed access to it. As part of its initiatives, Club Enerji recently organised activities for the school students like nature trails and visits to Tata Power Mahseer hatchery in Lonavala to increase awareness on its conservation projects and also provide practical knowledge about the environment.

Speaking on this achievement, Anil Sardana, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Power stated, “We, at Tata Power are delighted and proud to achieve this significant milestone with our focused approach of spreading the message of energy conservation across the country. Today, it gives me immense pleasure to say that our efforts have managed to save a considerable amount of energy in Kolkata which could light up thousands of homes in the city. I take this opportunity to thank our partners, students, principals, teachers, and parents in helping us achieve this milestone.”
