TESLA to soon establish facility in Karnataka

Hubballi/UNI: World’s leading Electrical Vehicles Manufacturer TESLA, has expressed interest in establishing its Car manufacturing establishment in Karnataka State and has already registered the Company office in Bengaluru and will soon open its commercial and Research and Development Center in the State, according to  Jagadish Shettar, former Karnataka Chief Minister and presently Minister for Major and Medium Industries.

Addressing a Press conference here on Saturday, Shettar said that best efforts were on and his government is in constant touch with TESLA and would be willing to extend all possible assistance if they decide to establish their manufacturing unit in Karnataka.

He said that though there are provisions in the existing industrial policies to attract companies like TESLA, the government would bring necessary amendments if necessary to bring them as their arrival will bring great contribution to the industrial success of Karnataka.

Shettar said that apart from TESLA, many other Electrical Vehicle manufacturers have also expressed their desire to establish their manufacturing units in Karnataka.

Shettar said that plans are underway to acquire four to Five thousand acres of land to establish and develop industrial parks on the Bengaluru-Chennai industrial corridor and Bengaluru-Mumbai Financial corridor with an estimated cost of Rupees 70 to 80 Thousand Crores providing employment to Lakhs of people.

The proposed plans are considered a game changer in the development of industrial progress in the state, he added.
