New Delhi, Mar 24 (IBNS) Twitter CEO Dick Costolo called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister spoke about avenues through which Twitter can help in initiatives such as ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ not just by providing a platform but also by initiating a prolonged effort to support these initiatives.

He also urged Twitter to help promote India’s rich tourist potential across the world.

Modi talked about the International Day of Yoga and how Twitter can contribute in making it more vibrant across the world.

Modi said that Twitter should tap into India’s linguistic diversity and offer services that would draw people from various linguistic backgrounds to Twitter.

Costolo told the Prime Minister that Twitter is growing fast in India and that he has come here to see how people are innovating.

He added that he saw India’s young population as a wonderful opportunity for Twitter to grow.

Costolo shared some of the innovations being done by Twitter to enhance connectivity between Twitter users.
