After a week, Assam reports fresh COVID-19 positive case

Guwahati/IBNS: After a week, a fresh COVID-19 positive case has emerged in Assam on Thursday.

With the new case, the state tally is now 35.

The new case has been reported from Bilasipara area in Dhubri district.

Confirming the report, Assam Health minister said the man has a history of being in touch with another COVID-19 patient who was part of Athgaon Kabristan Mosque congregation in Guwahati.

“A man from Bilasipara, Dhubri has tested #COVID positive. He has a history of being in touch with another patient, who was part of Athgaon Majid congregation in Guwahati. The number of patients is now 35,” Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

The last positive case for COVID-19 in Assam was detected on Apr 16 and two positive cases for COVID-19 were reported from Morigaon district.

One COVID-19 positive patient from Hailakandi district was died on April 10.

19 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from different hospitals of the state so far.
