Assam: COVID-19 tally nearing 30,000

Guwahati/UNI:  The number of cured COVID 19 patients crossed 1,000 for the third successive time in the last 24 hours, while the overall COVID 19 tally also continued to increase.

As many as 1062 cured patients were discharged from different hospitals during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered patients to 21761.

This is the third day in a row that the daily figure of recovered patients has exceeded 1,000, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.

The number of new cases detected in the last 24 hours was 1130, out of which 417 were from Guwahati and 104 from Cachar.

The overall COVID 19 tally now is at 29921.

Six casualties were also reported during the period, taking the death toll to 76.

The number of active COVID 19 positive cases in the state stands at 8081.
