Assam: COVID tally touches 1384

Guwahati/UNI:  Altogether 23 new positive cases of COVID 19 were reported in Assam today so far, taking the overall tally to 1384.

State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed of the new cases on Twitter.

Among the new cases, 11 have been detected in Barpeta, five in Udalguri, and three each in Dhubri and Darrang.

Sonitpur has reported one case.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1192, while 185 have recovered and four have died so far.

The number of cases has doubled since May 25, when the 500-mark was reached, to cross 1000 on May 30.

The number of active cases had breached the 1,000-mark the same day.
