Bihar: Coronavirus claims 25th life

Patna/UNI:  With one more death due to coronavirus in Jamui district, the death toll due to Covid-19 increased to 25 in Bihar.

A 64-year-old man died due to coronavirus infection while being shifted to Nalanda Medical College Hospital in Patna from Health Centre Gidhdhaur of Jamui late last night.

According to a report from Jamui quoting civil surgeon Dr Vijendra Satyarthi, the patient was an inhabitant of Chaukitabd in Khaira block and had returned from Mumbai on May 25, after which he was quarantined at block level.

He was tested for coronavirus on May 26, which confirmed the infection in his body.

He was undergoing treatment, but on June 2 his condition suddenly deteriorated and he complained of breathlessness.

Dr Satyarthi said that the patient succumbed while on way to NMCH Patna.

Earlier, coronavirus claimed three lives in Khagaria, two each in Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Patna , Bhojpur and Begusarai and one each in Bhagalpur, Jahanabad, Madhepura, Munger ,Nalanda, East Champaran, Rohtas, Samastipur and Saran.
