COVID-19: India witnesses another day of massive surge in cases, death toll touches 5394

New Delhi/IBNS: India witnessed yet another day of massive surge in the number of COVID-19 positive cases with the figure now standing at 190535, as per Ministry of health data released.

The country on Sunday witnessed the addition of 8,392 new COVID-19 cases.

The death toll due to the highly infectious disease now stands at 5394.

So far, the number of active cases in the country is 93322 and 91818 have recovered from the disease.

The fifth phase of the lockdown commenced in the country from Monday.

However, several restrictions have been eased.
