Kolkata, July 11 (IBNS): 'Danfoss Energy Efficiency Yatra', a nationwide-campaign targeted at raising awareness about energy efficiency, by Danfoss, India, a Danish company that provides climate and energy solutions, recently arrived in Kolkata.
The aim of the bus Yatra is to highlight the importance of energy efficiency and the value that energy saving technologies will add to heavy industries in states like West Bengal. The campaign was launched in Delhi and has covered 11 cities before it arrived here.

Given the strong presence of steel manufacturing in the state, the objective of the bus of covering West Bengal is to cover all the Steel industry customer belts. The bus was in SAIL, Durgapur and other steel manufacturing units around Durgapur showcasing Danfoss Products and application solutions for steel industry.

A technical seminar was also organized in Durgapur, for the benefit of stakeholders in the vicinity.

“There is good potential for urbanisation in Kolkata given the dense population in the country. The Energy Efficiency Yatra is a novel concept to connect with the customers of Indian Industries and influence the key stake holders to consider energy efficiency as a necessity more than an option. This is a platform to educate industrial consultants, engineering procurement construction consultants and food and beverage customers on how a better tomorrow is driven by drives," said Soren Kvorning, Vice President, Head of Asia, Pacific and India Region, Danfoss Drives, Sales, Marketing and Service.

“Our initiative is primarily aimed at raising awareness on the need for stringent regulations and standardisations that have the potential to not just reduce overall carbon emissions from heavy industries but also catalyse productivity and thus profitability. Public and private companies must work in sync with each other to establish energy saving measures across various industries in Kolkata,” said Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India.

The multi-city tour of Danfoss Drives Energy Efficiency Yatra aims to empower industries to adopt brand new innovations in energy efficient technology.
