Delhi reports over 80 pct rise in daily Covid-19 infection

New Delhi/UNI: Delhi reported a massive increase in Covid-19 cases on Tuesday as the capital city recorded over an 80 per cent hike in the daily tally compared to the previous day.

Delhi logged 1,118 Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a whopping rise of 82 per cent more than Monday's tally where 614 cases were reported, according to the health bulletin data.

Meanwhile, two more people succumbed to the deadly virus whereas the positivity rate stood at 6.50 per cent. The total number of deaths reported in Delhi now stands at 26,223.

About 500 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, 18,85,130 people have recovered from the disease. The overall case count stood at 19,14,530.

The daily tally of Covid-19 infection in Delhi crossed 1,000 cases after a gap of one month. The city had reported 1,032 cases on May 12.
