India fights COVID-19: Death toll touches 5598

New Delhi/IBNS: The number of COVID-19 cases in India has touched 1.98 lakh and the death toll due to the disease in the country reached 5598, as per data released by Ministry of Health.

There are 97581 active cases in the country at present.

So far, 95526 people have recovered from the highly infectious disease.

India on Monday recorded 8131 new COVID-19 positive cases.

In the past 24 hours the country lost 204 people due to the infection.

This was for the third consecutive day that India recorded over 8000 patients in a period of 24 hours.
