India logs 28,326 new COVID cases, 260 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: A total of 28,326 people tested positive for COVID-19 during the past 24 hours in India, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

As per the bulletin issued by the ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,36,52,745, while the death toll rose to 4,46,918 as 260 succumbed to the virus.

On the other hand, 26,032 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,29,02,351.

The recovery rate currently stands at 97.77 per cent.

The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,03,476, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, India has administered 85,60,81,527 doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
