India logs 3,116 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: India registered 3,116 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally to 4,29, 90,991 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Sunday.

As many as 47 fresh fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 5,15,850.

The active cases currently stand at 38,069 which now comprise 0.09 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.71 per cent.

Meanwhile, 5,559 recoveries were also reported, increasing the total recoveries 4,24,37,072.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin, 77.85 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. 7,61,1737 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours alone.
