India records 18,870 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India, a nation that witnessed a devastating second wave of the pandemic, registered 18,870 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

During the same period, 378 people died due to the deadly virus which is believed to have originated from China.

Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases.

It currently stands at 0.84 percent, lowest since March 2020.

India's Active caseload stands at 2,82,520.

It is the lowest figure in 194 days.

Recovery Rate currently at 97.83%.

The country also recorded 28,178 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
