India records 42,766 new cases, 1206 deaths due to COVID-19 in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded a single-day spike in death due to COVID-19 as 1206 people died due to the highly infectious virus in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Saturday.

During the same 24 hours period, 42,766 new cases were recorded.

India's Active Caseload currently at 4,55,033.

Active cases constitute 1.48% of total cases.

2,99,33,538 Total Recoveries across the country have been recorded so far.

45,254 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.

Recovery Rate increases to 97.20%.

Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.34%.

Daily positivity rate at 2.19%, less than 3% for 19 consecutive days.

Testing capacity substantially ramped up – 42.90 cr tests total conducted.
