India witnesses another day of massive COVID-19 spike, death toll stands at 8498

New Dehli/IBNS: Witnessing another day of massive spike in COVID-19 cases, India reported 10,956 additional infected patients in the past 24 hours.

This is the highest single-day spike in cases so far.

The total number of cases in the country now stands at 297535.

It includes 141842 active cases.

So far, 147194 have been cured or discharged from hospital.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 8498.
