India's COVID-19 tally crosses 4.25 lakh mark, death toll stands at 13699

New Delhi/IBNS: India's COVID-19 tally crossed 4.25 lakh mark as 14,821 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Monday.

There are 174387 active cases at present.

However, 237195 people have recovered from the highly infectious disease which is believed to have originated from China.

The death toll now stands at 13699.

Scenario around the globe:

The World Health Organization on Sunday reported the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases by its count, at more than 1,83,000 new cases in the past 24 hrs.

The UN health agency said Brazil led the way with 54,771 cases tallied and the US next at 36,617. Over 15,400 came in from India, the UN-led health agency said.

Overall in the pandemic, WHO reported 87,08,008 cases with 4,61,715 deaths worldwide. More than two-thirds of those new deaths were reported in the Americas.
