India's Covid-19 tally crosses 67 lakh with over 72,000 new cases

New Delhi/IBNS: After recording a sharp decline in daily cases of Novel Coronavirus a day ago, India, the second worst Covid-19-affected country, reported over 72,000 new infections in the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to cross 67 lakh on Wednesday.

The country of 1.3 billion people reported 72,049 new cases in 24 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings pushing the tally to 67.57 lakh.

The Covid-19 toll has climbed to 1,04,555 as 986 people, who were infected with the virus, died in the past 24 hours.

The recovery rate in the country with poor health infrastructure has further improved to 85.02% as 57,44,693 have overcome the infection after testing positive for the contagion.
