India's Covid-19 tally nears 7 lakhs with over 24,000 fresh cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India, the country of 1.3 billion, on Monday reported over 24,000 fresh Novel Coronavirus cases taking the overall tally of infections close to seven lakhs.

In the last 24 hours between Sunday and Monday mornings, the country has reported 24,248 cases as the Covid tally touched 6,97,413.

With 425 new fatalities, the Covid toll touched 19,693.

4,24,433 of 6,97,413 have recovered so far from the contagion.

Meanwhile, India has surpassed Russia to become the third worst Covid-affected country in the world, according to Johns Hopkins University & Medicine.

India is now behind the United States (28,88,635) and Brazil (16,03,055).
