Indira Gandhi memorial in Delhi shut down following bird flu scare

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): Shakti Sthal, the memorial to former prime minister Indira Gandhi, in New Delhi, was shut down following the death of two more ducks from suspected bird flu, the media reported on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Delhi Zoo and a deer park in New Delhi also had to be shut down.

The number of birds dying from suspected avian influenza had reached 66, reported NDTV.

Kerala, which has also seen the spread of avian influenza has stepped up surveillance of its bird population as many wter bodies in the state receives a large number of migratory birds, reported the media.
