Jammu and Kashmir: Plantation drive held at UPHC Nishat

Srinagar: A special Institutional plantation drive was conducted by Department of Social Forestry, Social Forestry Division Srinagar in collaboration with Government Medical College Srinagar at Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Nishat.

The drive was inaugurated by Mehrajuddin Malik, regional director, Department of Social Forestry, Kashmir in presence of Nazeer BeNazir, chairman National Society for protection of water resources wetlands and forests, Tanveer Ahmad, SFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry Division Srinagar and Dr. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, head of the Department, Community Medicine, Government Medical College Srinagar and other faculty members, doctors, and staff of government Medical College Srinagar, UPHC Nishat and social Forestry Department.

“The plantation drive kick started the Institutional plantation activities being carried in premises, hospitals and hostel complexes of government Medical College Srinagar so that it provides clean and greener environment in hospital premises which is an essential component of holistic health care of the community,” said Dr Salim Khan.
