Kerala records first Omicron case

Kochi/UNI: Kerala reported first case of Omicron variant after a Britain returnee tested positive for the new variant of COVID-19 on Sunday.

Talking to newspersons, state Health Minister Veena Gorge confirmed the first Omicron case in the State.

All the passengers in the flight reached here on December six via Abu Dhabi were asked to take utmost care and precautionary measures, she added.

Meanwhile, two relatives of the person hailing from Kerala also tested positive for COVID-19. The samples of them were also sent for genomic sequencing.
