Kolkata: CISF man posted at Indian Museum succumbs to Covid-19

Kolkata/IBNS: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who was posted at National Museum in Kolkata and had tested positive for Covid-19, died at Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata on Thursday, reports said on Friday.

According to reports, the deceased, Asit Kumar Saha, was a resident of Kalna in East Burdwan district of West Bengal.

A senior CISF official in Kolkata said that as many as 50 CISF personnel of the same unit, who reportedly came in contact with the ASI, had been quarantined.

Meanwhile, efforts to sanitize and disinfect the Indian Museum complex and the CISF barrack, where the deceased ASI was staying, are currently underway.

On the same day, CISF lost its another warrior Gurbachan Singh, a head constable of the Central paramilitary force who was posted at Air Cargo Complex of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai's Andheri East. He succumbed to novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the number of police personnel infected with Covid-19 in West Bengal has reached 32 as 12 Kolkata Police personnel and 20 policemen from Howrah police have tested positive for coronavirus so far.
