Maharashtra clocks over 30,000 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra state on Sunday set a new record of detecting 30,535 fresh cases of corona, pushing the total infections in the state to 24,69,682, State Health Department said.

Besides, 99 more deaths were also reported, taking the death toll to 53,399.

Meanwhile, total 11,314 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 22,14,867.

The state government has so far tested 1,83,56,200 samples for the disease.

With this, the recovery rate sharply reduced to 89.32 per cent, while fatality rate stands at 2.17 per cent.

At present, 2,10,120 active patients are undergoing treatment at different Covid centres and hospitals across the state, they added.

It may noted that Maharashtra state has been one of the worst-affected state across the country.
