New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS): "MOM" has started with her work and duties immediately after insertion into martian orbit.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday released the first image of Mars clicked by the indigenous “Mangalyaan”, which took India to soaring heights on Wednesday by slipping into the Red Planet's orbit on the country's maiden attempt.

ISRO posted the photo on its Mars Orbiter Mission’s (MOM) social networking pages.

According to ISRO, the photograph was taken from a height of 7300 km; with 376 m spatial resolution.

An official said, "The photographs bear a testimony to the fact that Mars Orbiter Mission, which helped India join an elite club of successful Mars explorers, is in 'good health' and performing its duties well."

Later, a team of ISRO scientists today presented the first pictures of the Red Planet sent by Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The team, led by ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan and ISRO Scientific Secretary V Koteswara Rao, flew in here to hand over to pictures to the PM.
