Met forecasts thunderstorm with gusty winds along coastal Andhra till May 19

Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI): The meteorological department here on Thursday forecasted thunderstorm with gusty winds in Coastal Andhra Pradesh till May 19.

The same situation will prevail in Telangana and Rayalaseema till May 17.

In a bulletin here, MET said Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (40 to 50 kmph) and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Nellore, Prakasam, Krishna and Guntur of Coastal Andhra Pradesh till Sunday and in all the districts of Rayalaseema till Friday.

In Telangana, the bulletin said thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) and lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Warangal ( Urban and Rural) Mahabubabad, Suryapet, Ranagareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda and Wanaparthy till Friday.

Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts of Adilabad, Komarambheem, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda and Nagar Kurnool of Telangana in the next 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 43.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin added.
