Mother’s Day at HCG Cancer Hospital spotlights women’s health and cancer screening

The programme aimed to educate women and families on recognising early warning signs, understanding cancer-related risk factors and adopting preventive healthcare practices.

The initiative brought together leading experts from the hospital — Dr Rupali Basu, Regional Business Head, East & AP, Dr Jyoti Gupta, breast surgeon, Dr M.U.R.S. Sireesha, consultant, gynaecological oncologist and robotic surgeon and Dr Shreya Bhattacharya, senior consultant, head & neck oncosurgery.

The discussion addressed a critical concern: women, despite often being the primary caregivers in families, tend to deprioritise their own health. Through the initiative, HCG Cancer Hospital, Kolkata encouraged women to take timely action, seek regular medical advice, and adopt a proactive approach to their own health. It urged women to make screening a part of their health routine.

Adding depth to the programme, six comprehensive health profiles covering the heart, liver, kidney, lungs, uterus and brain were presented through interactive demonstrations.
