Nagaland DC sets up Task Force to protect Amur Falcon

Kohima/UNI: The Deputy Commissioner of Mon district of Nagaland Thavaseelan K has set up a Joint Task Force for the protection of the visiting migratory bird Amur Falcon to the district.

According to an official report the Deputy Commissioner had convened a meeting yesterday at the DC’s Conference Hall in Mon to discuss the ban on hunting, trapping, killing and selling of Amur Falcons in the district.

The report informed that joint task forces of administration, Police, Village Council, Village Guard and Forest Department were formed to stop hunting, trapping and killing of Amur Falcons.

The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police of Mon, Divisional Forest Officer of Mon, SDO (C) Sadar and Phomching, Village Council Chairman and Village Council Member of Tangnyu, Tuimei, Totok Chingnyu, Totok Chingkho, Totok Chingha,  Totok Chinglen, Totok Omlen and Nyahnyu and Head Gaon Burhas of Longshen and Phomching.
