India, May 16 (IBNS): Narayana Health has earned it the prestigious JCI (Joint Commission International) Gold Seal of Approval for Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI).

Launched in February 2014, as a tertiary care multispeciality hospital, this recognition is received just over a year of Health City Cayman Island’s operations. It is for the first time that an Indian healthcare chain has set-up a hospital in the Western world and it is only the second hospital in the region to have received a JCI approval.

Devi Shetty – Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health said, “It is rewarding to see our efforts recognized with the accreditation by JCI which has expanded our credibility worldwide. JCI’s endorsement of our state-of-the-art clinical facilities and of medical treatment further reinstates the Narayana Health commitment.” He further added, “Narayana Health endeavors to provide world class services to one and all and we have spent a lot of time to carefully handpick and attract some of the best doctors and surgeons to our Cayman Islands facility.”

Narayana Health is associated with Ascension Health Alliance, one of the largest private, non-profit healthcare networks in the United States, to provide quality services at HCCI. The partnership with Ascension is to advance the concept of excellent clinical care for all.  Both share the same values: dedication to the transformation of healthcare through innovation.

According to Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Vice Chairman, MD & Group CEO, Narayana Health, “HCCI has continued to demonstrate how the Group’s high-quality, low-cost model can be successful and impactful in the Western world as well. It has completed over a year of operations and received a JCI approval. The majority of Health City's team members come from institutions where quality has become a way of life, allowing the hospital to achieve this important accreditation in such a short time.”

The Joint Commission International Hospital Standards aim to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvements in daily performance and in the outcomes of patient care.

Narayana Health has set high quality training standards and benchmarks in the healthcare sector in India. The same have been adapted for the workforce at HCCI.
