Guwahati, Jan 24 (Just Earth News/IBNS): Poachers killed another one-horned rhinoceros in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on the wee hours of Sunday and managed to flee with its horn.

It is the second poaching incident in the world heritage site this year.

According to reports, a poacher gang had killed a female rhino at Difalo Chanak forest camp area under Burhapahar range inside the park.

Forest guards had found bullet injures in the dehorned carcass of the rhino on Sunday.

Security personnel also recovered 31 empty cartridges of AK series rifle and M-16 rifle from the area.

At least 30 one-horned rhinos were poached in the state last year.
