Kolkata, July 28 (IBNS): In an endeavour to provide world class diagnostic services to people of Eastern India and especially West Bengal, SRL Diagnostics, the leading global diagnostic chain plans to expand their footprints in the eastern part of India.

With a firm strategy, the company plans to invest about Rs. 15 crores and open 7 new laboratories in West Bengal by 2015-2016.

Presently SRL Diagnostics, with 8 diagnostic laboratories in West Bengal out of total 15 labs in Eastern India, has been responsibly providing quality services and timely diagnosis to the residents of West Bengal.

With an aim to achieve a revenue of Rs.950 Crores in the fiscal year 2015-2016, SRL is on an aggressive growth path by expanding its pathology testing services in the state.

Considering the disease prevalence in the region, SRL is planning to introduce tests based on Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) to diagnose 700 disorders by this year. On the other hand they are proactively working on spreading awareness by scientifically disseminating clinical utilities of tests via CMEs/RTMs and explore tie-up opportunities with third parties to enhance efficiency in delivery standard.

Sanjeev Vashishta, Chief Executive Officer, SRL Diagnostics, eyeing the market size of the state, said, “The benefits of a technologically advanced yet affordable diagnostic lab can only be experienced when the people realize the importance of timely and accurate diagnosis results. The ever growing population, increasing government expenditure on health and growing per capita income will increase the size of this industry in the years to come. SRL’s move can initiate a larger trend in the Indian healthcare sector.”

Analyzing the present market size of the healthcare industry in West Bengal, SRL Diagnostics plans to meet the strong demands of the state by providing accurate diagnostic, prognostic and predictive testing services with the minimum turnaround time in a timely manner. SRL’s 'Research and Innovation' wing works to find economical solutions and introduce ideas and concepts for new initiatives to stay ahead on the technological front. Other areas that puts SRL diagnostics in a leadership position are their efficient logistics and IT prowess that helps them in handling large volumes.
