West Bengal's COVID-19 tally surpasses 1 lakh mark, death toll reaches 2,149

Kolkata/IBNS: With 2,931 fresh infections and 49 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has crossed the one lakh mark, reports said on Tuesday.

State's Covid-19 tally has reportedly mounted to 1,01,390, including 25,846 active cases, 2,149 deaths and 73,395 discharges.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal Health and Family Welfare (WBHFW) department, in the last 24 hours, 3067 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different health facilities across the state, taking the recovery rate to 72.39 per cent from 71.43 per cent.

Officials said that West Bengal had tested 11,59,211 samples till date with a record number of 27,015 tests conducted in 61 testing facilities in the state in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 2,720 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 27,927 people are under home surveillance in the state while 1,608 persons are in 109 government-run safe homes.
