AHSEC's Class 12 results declared, girls outshine boys in all three streams

Guwahati, May 30 (IBNS): Girls outshone boys in the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC)’s Class 12 results announced on Tuesday.

The pass percentage of all three streams – Arts, Science and Commerce dipped in this year results compared with the previous year’s results.

According to the AHSEC, the pass percentage in Arts stream was recorded 73.16 per cent, while 86.24 per cent recorded in Science and 82.72 per cent in Commerce stream.

Over 2.5 candidates had appeared in this year exam in all three streams.

In Arts stream, a total of 1,37,993 candidates out of 1,88,629 had passed, while 31,493 in Science stream  out of 14,458 students have secured the pass marks.

Meanwhile, Rajababu Saikia of Ramanujan Junior College in middle Assam’s Nagaon town topped the Science stream by scoring 482 marks out of total 500 (96.40 per cent).

Rajababu hailing from Lakhimpur district said that, he loves Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Virat Kohli is his favourite cricketer.

Six students from the private educational institution in Nagaon secured position in the Science stream.

A total of 28 students, 23 boys secured their positions in top ten positions in Science stream.

On the other hand, Alaka Das from Krishnaguru College at Na-satra in lower Assam’s Barpeta district topped in Arts stream by scoring 480 out of 500 (96 per cent).

In Arts stream, a total of 21 including 19 girls secured in top ten positions.

In Commerce stream, Prashanta Goyal of KC Das Commerce College in Guwahati topped by scoring 471 out of 500 (94.20 per cent).
