Cambridge University Press launches 'Centre for Excellence'

"Not only does this further demonstrate the commitment made by Cambridge University Press to promote educational excellence in South Asia, but crucially marks a turning point in the organisation’s evolution and India’s history where for the first time the majority of the world-class academic research content, produced by Cambridge University Press will be generated in India, at a Cambridge level of quality, to be distributed across the globe," said a release by the Cambridge University Press.

The ‘Centre for Excellence’ empowers Indian academics to take their research to the world, affirming Cambridge University Press in India and South Asia as a world-leader in educational content production and research across all ages.

Inaugurated  recently by the Vice Chancellor of Cambridge,   Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, the ‘Centre for Excellence’ will further Cambridge University Press’s mission in South Asia, strengthening engagement with India by disseminating knowledge in the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest levels of excellence. 

Cambridge University Press has over 50 offices around the globe and distributes its products to nearly every country in the world. The ‘Centre for Excellence’ in New Delhi is the third largest of the global offices, and whilst Cambridge University Press is the oldest University Press in the world (founded in 1584), the ‘Centre for Excellence’ embodies the latest cutting edge facilities with a modern, vibrant and dynamic outlook.

Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz  said: “ For more than 10 years the University of Cambridge has valued its close relationships with India. I am delighted to announce the inauguration of the ‘Centre for Excellence’ in New Delhi  for Cambridge University Press.  It is a significant milestone that demonstrates the commitment of Cambridge-India partnerships ; the first of many such collaborations of excellence.”
