Environ publications celebrates silver jubilee with launch of its special issue

Kolkata, May 2 (IBNS): Environ, a magazine published from Eastern India focusing on wildlife and environment at large with a pan India presence and a vision to increase awareness on wildlife and conservation among the masses, celebrated Silver Jubilee with the launch of a special issue in a city bookstore.

Present on the occasion were Damiano Francovigh, Consul General of Italy, Agnimitra Paul, fashion designer and activist, Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Editor in Chief, Environ Publications, Shiladitya Chaudhury, The Editor, Environ Publications.

The magazine, published quarterly from Kolkata, has a circulation of approximately 3000 copies and is distributed in all major book stores, magazine stands, and large format modern retail stores and at the forest gates of all major national parks in the country.

“It is an honored moment for us to launch the 25th Edition of the magazine. Our magazine has become widely acclaimed and a yardstick for wildlife enthusiasts and policy makers in India. The prime focus of the magazine is to work towards conservation of nature and is a standard reference for nature and wildlife enthusiasts,” said Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Editor in Chief, Environ Publications.

“It is indeed a proud moment to launch the 25th Edition of the magazine. Now we are planning to take this magazine to the next level by reaching out to the international wildlife enthusiasts. We have already initiated dialogues with eight countries,” said Shiladitya Chaudhury, The Editor, Environ Publications.

Every issue of Environ highlights places of known and lesser-known natural importance in India and abroad, educates the readers on various emerging issues related to environment; discusses different threats and opportunities to the natural world and celebrates the joy of wilderness and helps develop a personal bond with nature.

The current Silver Jubilee Issue of Environ focuses on the Marine Biodiversity of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Polar Bears.
