Google decorates homepage with doodle celebrating Robert Koch's memory
New York, Dec 10 (IBNS): Popular search engine Google on Sunday decorated its homepage with a doodle to celebrate the memory of German physician and microbiologist Robert Koch.
The German had won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1905 on this particular day.
Google, in its official website related to doodle, said: "Today’s Doodle illustrates potato slices – the original media he used to isolate pure bacterial cells to help with his research. Koch experimented with potato slices until his assistant, Julius Petri, invented the Petri dish (also depicted in the Doodle, and bearing Koch’s image)."
The German passed away on May 27, 1910.
Google often decorates its website with doodle to celebrate birthday of special people, major events and dates.
