New Delhi, Jan 7 (IBNS): Popular search Google on Saturday paid tribute to Scottish Canadian engineer and inventor Sandford Fleming on his 190th birthday with a doodle.

The Doodle depicts Sandford's legacy as an inventor of worldwide standard time and his contributions in engineering Intercolonial Railway as well as the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Sanford proposed worldwide standard time zones, designed Canada's first postage stamp, left a huge body of surveying and map making, engineered much of the Intercolonial Railway and the Canadian Pacific Railway.

He was a founding member of the Royal Society of Canada and founder of the Royal Canadian Institute, a science organization in Toronto.
