Kolkata hosts Music for World Peace concert in memory of Pulwama martyrs

Kolkata, Mar 8 (IBNS): GIMA award winning percussionist Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee recently presented a musical concert titled 'Music for World Peace' in the memory of Pulwama martyrs.

The concert, held at Satyajit Ray Auditorium (ICCR ), was supported by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR Kolkata) and Kalayani Roy Memorial Trust.

Consul General of Japan, Masayuki Taga and Regional Director of ICCR, Goutam  Dey were among the dignitaries present.

Grammy award winner Padma Bhushan Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee presented fusion music on world peace.

Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt performed one of his Grammy winning compositions 'Meeting By The River' followed by GIMA award winning composition 'Within You' from the Rhythm Express's album 'Moods' in which sound design and concept was by Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee.

Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya performed his compositions like 'Pahadi', 'Dreams' and so on.

Some new compositions heightened the experience of this gala performance.

Singer Srabani Sen and actor-singer Saheb Chatterjee too regaled the audience with their rendition o Tagore songs.

Singers Sujoy Chanda and Ashish Chatterjee also rendered bengali popular and folk songs.
