Sona College announces admissions to BTech in Computer Science, IT, AI-ML & Data Science
Salem: Sona College of Technology has announced admissions to its four-year B.E., B.Tech programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Data Science for the forthcoming academic year.
Meritorious students who have completed Class XII from the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics streams and have an interest in computing and emerging technologies are invited to apply.
The NBA-accredited programms are designed to provide a strong grounding in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science, while also offering extensive exposure to programming, robotics, basic sciences and soft skills.
Students can choose from a wide range of interdisciplinary electives, including Japanese language studies. The programmes are further strengthened by a semester-long (20-week) immersive, multi-phase industry internship that equips students with practical industry exposure.
During the academic year 2025–26, candidates with competitive TNEA scores secured admission to these programmes.

Sona College also offers B.E., B.Tech programmes in core engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, in addition to Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Fashion Technology.
Through its Foreign Language Training Centre offering Japanese, Korean, German and French, Sona has enabled international career opportunities for students. From the 2025-26 batch, 15 students secured placements in Japanese companies, taking the total number of Sona graduates employed in Japan on international salary packages to over 114.
The 29-year-old Sona College of Technology is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University. Spread across a 35-acre Wi-Fi-enabled green campus featuring Salem’s tallest academic structure, the college offers world-class infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and a research library with over one lakh books and digital resources.
Three major national-level hackathon wins by Sona student teams during 2025–26 highlight the institution’s strong innovation and industry-linked mentoring ecosystem. Students secured the Google’s Fund my Crazy Award carrying a ₹25 lakh prize, won the ₹1.5 lakh Capgemini Engineering Brand Quest Student Champion Award among 2.5 lakh participants, and captured the Gold Cup at the Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2026 for developing an AI-powered industrial PLC programming assistant and visit Japan representing India.
