Tata Power Club Enerji students celebrate Eco-Friendly Ganesh Mahotsav

In line with this philosophy, Club Enerji’s students from Chembur Karnataka High School,Mumbai celebrated an eco-friendly Ganesh Utsav at their school premises wherein they organised a ten day exhibition based on green initiatives like saving fuel, using LED lights, switching off electric lamps at night etc.

Students created eco-friendly idols and paintings which were displayed at the school for 10 days as part of the exhibition and celebration.

The children displayed 175 Ganesh idols and a commendable 520 paintings that included glass and canvas paintings and handicrafts.

Students belonging to different communities participated wholeheartedly to create some of the most beautiful idols and paintings.

Bio-degradable materials were used in creating these idols including paper mache, tissues, cloth, wool, wood, coconut shells, cotton, clay, cardboard boxes and mud.

The first day commenced with a puja performed by a priest which was attended by the staff, students and the management of Chembur Karnataka High School.  Anand Mahajan, Graphic Designer from Raheja School of Arts and  Sunil Poojari, Fine Artist from J.J. School of Arts were invited as judges to evaluate the spectacular display of talent.

We are extremely happy that our Club Enerji students from Chembur Karanataka High School celebrated this joyous festival in such a noble manner where they have taken the effort to sensitize the community on going green; while also practicing this value by enjoying this festival in a eco-friendly way.”
