‘West Bengal is among our top 5 markets’: Oppo reveals major growth strategy

Kolkata/IBNS: At a strategic discussion of Oppo held in the city recently, the company cleared that  West Bengal is not just another market on their map, it is one of the most top five important markets like Mumbai, Bangalore.

The Chinese smartphone maker which currently holds a 13.3% share of India's smartphone market and counts over 100 million users nationwide, it recorded close to 10% sales growth in West Bengal 2025.

For oppo,West Bengal has a strong significance in its strategic map.

The brand's head of communication Goldee Patnaik put it in a simple way during the discussion that 'Markets like West Bengal offer more than scale, they provide deep insight into evolving consumer aspirations which directly shape our innovation journey'.

"The brand has already expanded its retail touch points in the state by 35% and currently operates 20 service centres across the state and we are planning to launch 8 more 3.0 PRO service centres in the state," he added.

On the question about Oppo's 2026 marketing strategy or how they are planning to grow more, Goldee Patnaik told IBNS, "We are currently focusing to connect with every single user through our mid segment, premium segment and affordable segment.

"We are trying our best to connect with local people with the help of influencers and content creators and we are also trying to engage in the local cultural festivals to understand the real requirements of every person."
