PM Modi in Varanasi: All Updates

Prime Miniser Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi for two days from Monday. He will inaugurate phase one of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, constructed at a cost of around Rs 339 crores. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham was conceptualised as a project to create an easily accessible pathway to connect Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the banks of the River Ganga. With the assembly polls round the corner, the project will be highlighted by the ruling BJP which will face the polls in early 2022.

Overwhelmed after reaching Kashi: Modi

Lucknow/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that he was overwhelmed after reaching Kashi and was looking forward to launch the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project.

After darshan of Kotwal of Kashi, Kaal Bhjairav the Prime Minister tweeted, 'I am overwhelmed to reach Kashi.

"After sometime we all will witness the launch of Kashi Vishwanath Dham project. Before this I had darshan of Kaal Bhairav ji, Kotwal of Kashi."

Akhilesh Yadav claims credit for Kashi Vishwanath Corridor

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav claimed credit for the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. 

He tweeted, "Chronology of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor: Crores were allocated by the SP government. Acquisition of buildings for the corridor started during the SP government. Honorarium was fixed for temple workers. 'Pedestrians' should tell why the cleanliness drive of the Varuna river of the SP government was stopped and what happened to the metro."
