Supreme Court hears RG Kar case: All Updates

The Supreme Court on Thursday resumed hearing on the case pertaining to the 31-year-old lady junior doctor's rape and murder at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. On Tuesday, the top court had lashed out at the West Bengal government and administration over the administration's lapses including delay in filing of an FIR. The top court had ordered the posting of CISF at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the junior doctors, who are protesting against the rape and murder of a 31-year-old post-graduate trainee doctor, to resume work ensuring no coercive action will be allowed to be taken against them, media reports said.

The top court has also asked the West Bengal government, which is at the receiving end of a massive public anger, to not stop any peaceful protest over the rape-murder that has sent shockwaves across the country and also brought the state administration under scanner over its alleged cover-up.
