1 lakh people to attend Rahul rally in Assam: Rawat

Guwahati, Feb 25 (UNI) More than 1 lakh people are expected to attend the public rally of Congress President Rahul Gandhi tomorrow, party officials said.

Addressing the media here, Harish Rawat Congress General Secretary and Assam in-charge of the party said elaborate arrangements have been made for the rally and people from all walks of life from various corner of the state as well from other North Eastern states will attend the rally which will sound the poll bugle of the party in the region.

Gandhi who will arrive here tomorrow will address a public rally in Khanapara Veterinary Field around 12 noon.

He will also have interaction with booth level presidents of the Congress party in the state.

Congress in Assam is hoping for a revival of it's fortunes riding on the back of protest involving the Citizenship Amendment Bill and the hooch tragedy which killed more than 150 people in the state.

"Sarbananda Sonowal government has miserably failed to provide timely medical care to the victims of hooch tragedy which resulted in soany deaths.Chief Minister should resign immediately,"Rawat said.

Talking on Arunachal situation, Rawat said the ruling government has lost all control over law and order in the state and as early as possible President rule should be imposed in the state.
